The Hotel Platanus is mid way between the international airport and the city centre. The excellent transport system allows everything to be easily reachable from the hotel in less than 20 minutes either by car, Metro, train, tram or bus. If you want relaxation then Budapest is known as the city of spas naturally there are plenty to choose from. Gellért Bath is a favourite of the city and has been known about since the 13th century. Király Bath, Construction was begun under Arslan, Pasha of Buda in 1565. It is one of the finest buildings of the Turkish period still in existence, and gives visitors an inspiring glimpse into the splendour of the Ottoman bathing culture. The Széchenyi is one of the biggest bathing complexes anywhere in Europe. This hot spring is both the hottest and deepest in the city and was discovered in 1879. Its neo-baroque building containing the thermal baths dates from 1913 and the adjacent swimming pool opened in 1927. The water is so warm that the outdoor pools are popular even in winter. |
